Six Key Principles of Youth Engagement

Collaborate with Partners · Learn the Six Key Principles for Youth Engagement

What are the six principles of youth engagement?

Growing Up Boulder utilizes six key principles when working with children and youth. We find that planning with these principles in mind yields successful engagements and positive outcomes for everyone involved. In each of the following pages, you will watch a brief video which introduces you to a principle and offers you examples to learn from. Then, you will engage in an activity related to that principle. In this way, you and your colleagues will come to have a deeper understanding of the principle and feel confident in applying the principle during your map making engagements with young people.
