The First Final Map Draft
![]()
After going through the iterative cycle of outreach, analyzing, and drafting, you have likely come to a place where you have reached a good stopping point and are ready to share your map with the world. WOOHOO, your team has a child-friendly city map!
At GUB it’s our belief that your map is a living, breathing document that will grow and evolve along with your young people and the city itself. The first map that you publish, although finished and ready for the public to see, in reality, is your true first draft. It took a lot of time and effort to get to this point. Future map iterations will likely consist of things like updating favorite locations and making design tweaks–both of which can be done without too much time or effort.
Stage 5 walks your team through the steps of map distribution, celebration and reflection. We offer suggestions on future iterations of your map and how to take the map project further.

If your team has been completing this course and creating your map along the way, we encourage you to share your draft on the discussion board here! We’re excited to see the maps from those teams that have been completing the course sequentially. If you haven’t been following along, that is ok too. Take a look at the drafts and leave encouraging comments to the community!
