Share Plus/Delta from Partner Meeting 1

Collaborate with Partners · Partner Meeting 1

Now that you have completed your first Partner Meeting, it is time to reflect. To do this, you are going to fill out what we call a Plus/Delta.

What is a Plus/Delta?

Plus/Delta (or Plus/Change) is a technique GUB uses at the end of engagements with youth and workshops with adults to gather immediate, constructive feedback and for improving social processes. A plus sign (+) represents the Plus of the Plus/Delta, and what participants feel has been positive about the engagement. Questions such as: What has been good about the process so far? or What do we want to keep? Gather this information. A delta sign (Δ) represents the Delta of the Plus/Delta, and what participants would like to see in terms of improving the engagement. Questions such as: How specifically might we improve this process in the future? Or What do you need more of next time? Gather this information. The Plus/Delta activity is valuable for one-time sessions or multiple sessions alike.

How is it used:

With 5 minutes remaining in the session, introduce the Plus/Delta activity. Give each participant a few sticky notes to write their feedback about what went well/what they want to keep and what they feel could be improved/what they would like to be improved for next time. Encourage participants to be as specific as possible. Names on sticky notes are optional. If you engage youth in multiple sessions, you can share the Plus/Delta feedback chart with participants at the beginning of the next session and share how you have accommodated their feedback into that next day’s agenda.
